HISTORY

Feb 2021

April 2022

Over the course of the year the group met several times and aligned on key priorities. It was decided that a smaller group would be needed to carry the work forward as a majority of the initial groups terms were ending.

In November 2022, it was decided that the best way forward would be to build a new advocacy organization and so OSV was created. We incorporated that month as a Non For Profit organization.

OSV hosted its first inaugural gala, hosting members & stakeholders from across the sector. The group also decided on it's 2nd annual advocacy priorities.

Student leaders from all across Ontario came together to discuss the future of provincial advocacy in Ontario. There was representation from 22 colleges across the Province. The group was referred to as the student voices.

OSV's inaugural staff and board commenced their terms and focused on finalizing organizational policies and selecting advocacy priorities

The student voices aligned on key priorities and then decided that a smaller group would be needed to carry the work forward since a majority of the initials groups terms were ending.

The implementation committee was created, consisting of 9 member colleges. Conestoga, Centennial, Cambrian, Confederation, Fanshawe, Fleming SAC, Fleming Frost, Niagara & Sault.

How OSV works

We're a member driven organization, meaning that our members lead the organization and its advocacy priorities. Our members are made of student associations across the province, each student association has member delegates and one board member. The member delegates make decisions for the organization on member issues and the board of directors make decisions at the board level. Our organization is comprised of full time staff who lead the day to day work based on the strategies set by our members.
